We are led by Art Herrera, who has had a love of creativity since childhood. As a kid, he spent hours drawing and working with his hands. His artistic spark has never dimmed. It simply evolved into a lifelong passion for painting and transforming spaces.

How It Started
In the summer of 1996, Art started painting professionally. He loved being outside and working in different locations. He never wanted to be stuck in one place. However, after an injury in 2000, he realized he couldn't stay in the field forever. In 2005, he founded Arts Painting in order to take control of his future and be more present for his family. One early boss told him he wasn't good enough to paint, just to prep. Art's built his company to prove him wrong.
Lessons Learned
Art's first job was subbed from a former boss, and it didn't go well. He learned never to sub work again. From then on, he built his own reputation in Big Bear Valley. Local stopped in the street for quotes, and he knew he was building something special. Encouraged by a mentor named Kenny, he got his contractor's license and launched his business. He took the best and worst lessons from his career and built a company that reflected his values and work ethic.
Rooted in Big Bear
Art has spent his life in Big Bear, and he loves the small-town vibe. Everyone knows each other, and he spent years only painting locally and building a name for himself long before he ever launched his own company. That sense of community still drives Arts Painting today.

From log cabins to stucco homes, from modern builds to hotels, Art has worked on a wide variety of properties. By collaborating with talented builders, he has been able to express his artistic side and bring his unique visions to life for customers throughout the area.
